Decomposition Experiment: The Beginning

Mum and I set up our pumpkin/squash experiment. We'll leave these closed and untouched, watching & recording their decomposition every month until only seeds are left. Then we'll layer over them with a bit more dirt, close them back up, and watch & record their germination and growth until it's time to transplant them outside. I'll post an update at the beginning of each month if you feel like following along.

[1/5 ingredients for the experiment on table outside: empty plastic, lidded containers, small pumpkins/squash, & a bag of potting soil. 2/5 top-down view of soil in the containers and Hazel putting the pumpkins inside. 3/5 video with a top-down view of soil in the containers and Hazel putting the pumpkins inside w/ Michele explaining the process. 4/5 the smaller container with a tiny orange and tiny white pumpkin inside. 5/5 larger container with a small delicata squash inside.]
