Decomposition Experiment: November Update

Here is the Squash/Pumpkin experiment update for November. This is decomposition at one month. As you can see, there is quite a bit more mould in with the baby pumpkins than with the squash.

As a reminder: we'll leave these closed and untouched, watching & recording their decomposition every month until only seeds are left. Then we'll layer over them with a bit more dirt, close them back up, and watch & record their germination and growth until it's time to transplant them outside. I'll post an update at the beginning of each month if you feel like following along.

[1/4 both containers side-by-side with decomposing squash inside. 2/4 the larger container with a small delicata squash inside. 3/4 smaller container with a tiny orange and tiny white pumpkin inside. 4/4 Hazel standing on the deck. They're wearing brownish, striped corduroy pants and a black long sleeve shirt with Autumn coloured stars & crescent moons all over it.]
