Decomposition Experiment: January Update

Here is the Squash/Pumpkin experiment update for January. This is decomposition at three months. There is a bit more mould in both containers now, but not a whole lot seems to have changed much from last month. Even the mould from the mouldy salmon (not pictured here) that was taken out of my isopods vivariums and added to the squash container has not changed much (see the last Decomposition Experiment update to read about the salmon).

As a reminder: We'll leave these closed and untouched, watching & recording their decomposition every month until only seeds are left. Then we'll layer over them with a bit more dirt, close them back up, and watch & record their germination and growth until it's time to transplant them outside. I'll post an update at the beginning of each month if you feel like following along.
