Purim (פורים)
We usually have brunch with my dad's mum on the third Saturday of the month and in March it happened during the week that Purim landed. Here's what was on the menu:
Pic # 1 a table with the following dishes of foods:
- Grilled Trout
- Roasted Tofu & Broccoli w/ Peanut-Curry Sauce
- Brown Rice
- Cumin Roasted Carrots w/ Yoghurt Dill Dip
- Orange, Pistachio, & Mint Salad
- Crudités (veggies, hummus, olives, etc.)
Pic # 2 a closeup of the following:
- Chocolate Babka
- Assorted Hamantaschen Cookies
- Rose Masala Chai Chocolate
- Gulab Chai Tea
We had quite the feast for brunch and then worked a puzzle. We also taught my Gma more about the Purim holiday and its history and of course why we eat those funny triangle cookies!

And my mum also says that if you're an adult who is not at work or surrounded by young children (due to lots of colourful language), you should watch this video of Miriam Anzovin tell the story of Queen Esther and how she saved the Jews.
