Isopodium News: Lotus Seed Pods

This is a closeup of the lotus seed pod inside my Oreo Crumble vivarium. You can see the isobabe crawling on the top and some of the isobabes inside the holes where the seeds would typically be. You can also see all of the spots where the isopods have been eating on the seed pod -- that is what the tiny holes and weird fibre-like bits are from. They are essentially eating their own hotel, lol!

This is a closeup of a few of my Zebras doing what my mum likes to call "basking." These isobabes really like to hand out on top of this piece of cholla wood all day. That is also some frass (isopod poop) in their food bowl because they can be a little gross like that, lol!

This is a closeup of the lotus seed pod in my Dairy Cow vivarium. They also really like to hide in and underneath this seed pod. I chose this particular seed pod for them because the holes are really big and these isobabes are pretty big too. They have also been noshing on their seed pod, but not as much as the Oreo Crumbles. (Oh, and don't worry about the mould that you see on the decaying magnolia leaf in the foreground; it is totally harmless to the isopods and a natural occurrence in vivariums like this one.)
